Information Privacy Act 2014

The Information Privacy Act (ACT) is a law of the Australian Capital Territory which regulates the storage and handling of personal information about individuals by ACT Government agencies. It replaced, in the Territory, the Commonwealth Privacy Act which had until then been the privacy law in force. It includes a number of Territory Privacy Principles (TPPs) which set out the expectations for Government agencies. The law requires agencies to ensure that personal information that they keep is secure, accurate, and also accessible to the individuals concerned.
