Description: This is an image of Drummond Cottage on Terminus Street, Liverpool, in 1960. Drummond Cottage had previously been the premises of Our Children’s Home, Liverpool from 1887 to 1936. It appears here as a large, single storey house with wrap-around verandah (part of which has been converted into an enclosed room), two chimneys, and a tin roof.

“Photograph of Drummond Cottage as it appeared in about 1960. There are 2 cars in front of the house. The house was located on Terminus Street, Liverpool.
It was destroyed by fire in 1963. Drummond Cottage was the home of John Drummond. John Drummond was Quartermaster on the “H.M.S. Sirius” in the first fleet. He served as Beachmaster and Pilot of Norfolk Island from 1805 to 1812. In 1819 Drummond was granted a pension for his services on Norfolk Island by Governor Macquarie. Drummond lived at Drummond Cottage from 1819 until his death in August 1827.”
