‘Child Migration – visit by U.K. fact finding mission 1956’ is a file held by the National Archives of Australia. The travel itinerary of the Committee (pages 37-38) shows that they arrived in Canberra on 9 February 1956, visited New South Wales, then Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.   • Monday, 12 March: Discussion in Perth
  • Tuesday, 13 March: Fairbridge, Pinjarra
  • Wednesday, 14 March: ‘R.C. Homes, Clontarf and Leederville’
  • Thursday, 15 March: Swan Homes and Methodist Home
  • Friday, 16 March: Boys’ Town, Bindoon then return to Melbourne by air at 11.30pm
